Press release

QUI NY is pleased to announce an exhibition of recent works by Nicole Bigar.
“I needed to make a very strong statement!”
Bigar is reaching for new expressive dimensions; her vision has become sharper.
She wants her Goddesses to be awesome, imaginary, but realistic; a contradiction, perhaps, that can be mastered with a daring blend of techniques and materials!
On canvas they materialize through sand: positive, ancient, almost like precious archeological discoveries.
“They live in my imagination surrounded by the flowers of my garden that I love so much…” To capture the contrasting delicacy of nature, Bigar draws on top of paint, combining the nervousness of line and the volume of paint, leaving some lines untouched…

With her latest portfolio, Nicole Bigar, a deeply experienced painter with unique analytical skills and structural sophistication, has reached innovated strength and clarity. Surprising and exciting.

Nicole Bigar is a native of France. Alumnae of Barnard College, New York.
